I switched form SFREP to alamode a about a year ago. Alamode is very good at importing my old reports. I then could clone them and save comments to the quick list. Also save the copmps used. I never did try to copy a comp data base I just saved the comps from old files. It went pretty smoothly.

Cloning is my favorite feature in Aurora/WT.

i am in the process of chaning to a la mode (aurora)and find the change very different to ACI. the addendum for instance is not as intergrated with the report like ACI. I am getting to know the techs pretty well. (not fun) the package i have is an elite package which comes with all their toys and the renewal is supposed to be $1100-$1300, which is nice if it works correcly and does not cause me more time with each report. anyone else have this package or situation with their transition? i would love some feedback before i commit to them or go back to ACI. thanks!

I don't understand what you mean about the addendum. With Aurora, if you put in too much information in one section, it automatically tells you it is adding an addendum so that you can continue typing in your comments.

I typically don't even need an addendum in my reports. I usually can get the information needed into the regular URAR.

The thing I like best about Aurora is that it "is" a complete package of products. You don't have to leave the program to get anything else. If I ever figure out how to use my XSite properly that will be good.

I switched to a la mode/WinTotal about 3 years ago from MCS (which was purchased by ACI). I found it to be user friendly and if you keep your computer equipment updated, use the correct anti-virus program and do regular maintenance you should have no problems. I never have other than minor issues which were straightened out when I notified them. Not every tech support person is equal, however, and if you get someone on the phone that doesn't appear to know what you need, then simply ask for someone else.

Merging appraisal reports or creating templates is much better than cloning appraisal reports give it a try!

Athena Accounting Question

Mike, I presently use Wintotal Athena and would like to know if it is possible to convert to Aurora but retain Athena Accounting in office as it is, or at least prevent the account management function from being on the internet or in alamode possession after conversion?

new computer

I had to buy a new computer 2 weeks ago and just decided to call A La Mode to inquire how to get the software into the new computer. I called a service tech today(Chad), gave hime my telephone number and my e-mail address and he is sending the download info to my G-mail account.

What great service!!!! I rarely use a form report. I am not very savvy with computers, I didn't have to wait on hold a long time or verify 50 pieces of security info b4 he helped me. I wish other service providers were as efficient. Total time on phone--3 minutes at the max.

Now I just have to go open my e-mail and download the link(it even has the updates that I never bother to download).

A-la-mode is the way to go!!!!

How appropriate that this thread has been resurrected.

I'd like to know when one of my appraisers either sends me an open report through the WinTotal Servicer or we use the vault, I get different fonts and font sizes throughout the report.

Setting the 'default fault' on my computer does nothing to cure this problem. So what does?

Also, the copyright feature in Alamode stamps a big ole COPYRIGHT across every page. Is it possible to get the copyright inserted at the bottom of every page similar to the company name?
