Those software companies are all small potatoes. Just like fee appraisers are just trying to make money while they can. Just need to make money until they can retire.

The company worth paying attention to what they are doing is Intercontinental Exchange. I think they want to convert residential real estate into a tradable asset class.

Are these new products being developed to help us to become better appraisers OR. to simply to help the perea appraisers, skippy's or the national firms to produce 24 hr push button appraisals?

I like the analysis and surmising of where you think the appraisal industry is going.

Referencing the above however, why would Fannie come out with the UAD 3.6? You would think they'd streamline and cut the fat with a new form, not add extra layers of data gathering.

PAREA appraisers would have enough problems with the current forms not being trained in the field. Add the extra layers of the upcoming UAD 3.6 and like frustrated Amazon drivers who get out of their truck overloaded and overwhelmed throwing their keys and walking away, the PAREA appraiser is going to short circuit. That's not even touching upon the declining fees per assignment.

I believe it's all going to come to a head during the next mortgage purchase, refi bonanza. All these changes, plans, upgrades, and Tech has come on at a relatively slow pace in real estate..... when it ramps up, then we'll see the ramifications of all these changes.

Yeah, 4 years ago we were being held hostage by China. The orange man is trying to get things out of China. Now we have Americans complaining about having to pay more.... cannot have it both ways. All about $$ for corporate america. No allegiance to America.
