AMC Strike by the NREA-Ad Hoc

They will get around RESPA for only so much longer....there is an appraisal fee invoice.....it must be kept in the file...files are subject to subpoena......or do they believe they are above the law????? I love legal actions......reveal so much to the Court and to the public and press.....

Mr Turner, I was told by someone in another thread that this is perfectly legal - they charge the homeowner an 'application fee'... disclose THAT only and no appraisal fee!

I was in the biz for 16 years before going to work with Hunter...I was always under the impression that fees paid to vendors for benefit of the borrower (credit report, title, taxes, stamps APPRAISAL etc etc) had to be fully disclosed on the HUD AND had to match the invoices.
I am stumped and ****ed. This indeed will allow blind payments to AMC's and completely erase the actual appraiser's fee from the face of the earth.

Yes and now Chase has cut your fee to $273.00?>?>?>?>?>
The work Chase sends through eApe in my area pays $150 for 1004. I've heard rumblings that it's set to go lower but I haven't heard how much lower.

Pam, has Mitch Weiss come out with his second article as of yet? If I remember correctly you stated it would be focusing on AMC activities. We really need the media to shine a light on these clowns while the power brokers seem to be at their ready to anoint them as "the fix".
