Yesterday I went to the grocery store to pick up a few things...looked in my wallet and found I was short on cash. I ask the clerk if I could cash a check for $20 over the purchase amount. She said sure...just include you appraiser's license number on the check!

I was befuddled...my appraiser's license number??? Then I thought well maybe I had appraised her property or something. So I ask, why my appraiser's license number? Don't you normally ask for a driver's license number? Her reply<span style='color:darkred'>....."Some people don't drive!"</span>

But everybody has an appraiser's license?

WOW!! You must have a LOT of appraisers in your neck of the woods!

Mike.....you're joking....right? :? 8O

surprised it got all that way West; when they ask, I always tell em I don't drive just to see the facial expression

J, you can just show them your dart club card.

When I show my drivers license, they look really hard. But it is getting tough to read..... through all of the scratches of carding doors. The last time I got it renewed, the DMV lady asked: "Your in real estate aren't you?" Yeah, howda' know? "Well, you look to nice to be a burglar." 8O

All my clients and borrowers think they are appraisers.

I had one whining about how he thought his 40 acres was worth a lot more than $3000 an acre.....he has sold about 5 pieces off the place for $1,770 to $4,000 an acre in the past 3 years - each about 5 acres. I suppose he didn't think I knew.

8) Similar to what a friend in Los Angeles County told me........Most of the drive by shootings in LA County are appraisers trying to get rid of the competition

Don't quit your day job.......

I don't think Vegas is ready for a stand up appraiser.
