Living with extreme heat might make you age faster

Exposure to extreme heat could lead to faster aging, a new study published today in the journal Science Advances suggests. Older people living in hotter areas of the US showed faster aging at the molecular level than people living in cooler areas.

The study looked at measures of a person’s biological, or epigenetic, age, which is based on how a person’s body is functioning at the molecular and cellular levels and doesn’t necessarily match a person’s chronological age based on birth. Longer-term exposure to heat was associated with an increase in a person’s biological age by up to 2.48 years. The impact on the body is comparable to the effects of smoking, according to the study authors.

Heat may cause you to age faster, but extremly cold weather will kill more people.

Texas officials say measles outbreak has increased

The number of measles cases associated with an outbreak in Texas has grown to 159 -- an increase of 13 cases in the past five days, authorities said on Tuesday.

The Texas Department of State Health Services updated its website with the new numbers Tuesday afternoon and said the majority of the cases are in unvaccinated individuals or those whose vaccination status is unknown, with 80 unvaccinated and 74 of unknown status.

At least 22 people have been hospitalized, two more than the last update on Friday, according to the DSHS.

"Due to the highly contagious nature of this disease, additional cases are likely to occur in the outbreak area and the surrounding communities," the DSHS said.

Give it a break. It is mostly among the community of Mennonite settlers. A lot of us had measles and mumps as kids. Big deal. You don't worry about a few people dying from Covid even after they got the shot, or dying of the shot, so chill out.

Fernando is tired of us saying that he is living in a political trashcan state. He is trying to deflect how bad calif is from his constant lib voting.
Measles measles, measles. Although, nobody has died from it. I guarantee you that people more die, all the time, from government actions.
