about .4-.5 X 2 (

you would add a total of 4 3/4" or .4'
And we know this is the exact thickness, do we? I mean like walls vary right? double fire walls, single, 2" x 4" studs that aren't really 2"x4"- or were they 2" x 6"? err 1½" x 5¼" etc... or measure the end units and guess the rest :)
Precision. That's what I like about ANSI.

Exact floorplan but interior units and semidetached units and detached units have different gross area. WTF!o_O
Misleading to the public!

Which is why I said "assuming". Could be more, could be less. Can only go with what we know or can deduce. Modern 2 x 4s are 3 1/2" (maybe 3 5/8). Also assuming 5/8 drywall for firewall requirements (around here). It doesn't really make that much of a difference and who could prove you wrong. Unless they have actual construction drawings and specs. Or rip open the walls.

I like that.:giggle:

But in any event, it is a guess and as such blows the whole idea you can get 0.1' accuracy. You could easily be a tenth or even 2 or 3 tenths off.

Which is why I also said
"Kind of silly wanting measurements to the inch or 1/10 of a foot and then have to basically estimate interior wall thickness. "

I am glad we are all on agreement that measuring to the 1/10th foot is the stupidest idea and waste of appraiser's time.

If it is not clear from the foregoing, there are typically two 2x4 stud walls plus an air barrier between condos. Perhaps more in a high-end condos.
