Anti Virus software

Which anti virus software does everyone use? I have been using Kaspersky for years, but the US is banning its use at the end of September.

I used to pay in the past for all the computers in the household on an annual basis. Now, since I'm on a Windows computer, I just use Microsoft's Defender which is free. I also use Malwarebytes and another spyware program to make sure nothing's latching on to me. I don't notice any difference from the paid subscriptions to Microsoft Defender.

I do the same but have Malwarebytes pro and cc cleaner pro which comes with Avast, Kamo (VPN), and Recuva too. I did a free trial and it will give you reports of all the tracking, etc. It's inexpensive since you can put it on your phones and iPad, multiple laptops, etc.

Is it just me? When I hit "forum" few times yesterday, a message from Norton said I'm entering a dangerous site.

Windows defender and Malwarebytes.

I have used Bitdefender, Norton (the worst), McAfee (second worst), G Data, Avast (best on older computers), ESet, AVG, Avira, Panda (didn't use it much just some testing), Kaspersky, and now I use Windows Security with on demand scanning from Malwarebytes.

you have a virus on your computer from probable a site you visited, or an email. you need to do a total drive scan. nothing gets past a good virus software. i would go with price and the amount of computers you put it on. i get webroot cheaper with my backup off line carbonite.

Those computers with Windows Defender without CrowdStrike worked. CrowdStrike and other security software just open up another way to fail and bad guys a way to get into your computer. IMO. Think of it like hiring the Secret Service to protect you.

I've said it in another thread and I'll say it here. Everyone should run this program on their computer. It's made by Malwarebytes.

It finds different trojans, rootkits, ransomware, cryptojackers lurking deep in the bowels of your computer.

The best thing is that it's free. If it finds nothing, no harm no foul.

I don't know. If it's free, something not right.
