Any Oklahoma Appraisers here?

Hi Everyone, does anyone understand the new rule changes they are making to Title 600?

I hope I didn't run you off the forum with my reply.....I was being very "tongue in cheek"! Actually, the changes are, mainly, to the way CE courses are approved and a few changes in disciplinary procedures. The CE providers are squealing because the changes will make it slightly more expensive for them to get courses approved and they have to follow a stricter time line. They, CE providers, may try to increase the course fees, but that should be about the only difference the average appraiser notices. The disciplinary changes are, mostly, housekeeping changes and are things that should have been in the original "600". They have to do with no-shows at hearings, etc.

If you would like, PM me and I will try to answer any questions you have and can send you the full text of the changes. Don't leave the forum.....I didn't mean to offend you!

Robert, any luck with becoming AQB compliant? I have the same problem as you and it has prevented me from becoming FHA approved which is now as you know a large part of the market, i have also had a problem with 1 conventional lender.

Talked to Rod at the board and he tells me I need to take 3 classes and take the test. What a bunch of bull.

You mean you have to do that just to be AQB compliant??? I haven't turned in my log either so I'm not AQB compliant. Will you share with me exactly what classes you have to take?

AQB Compliant

Kathy, I recieved a letter on friday from the board that said after much re-consideration and review of the rules they now say (as I understand it)liciensed appraisers that were credentialed before Aug 22/2002 need only to complete an application for licensure indicating 90 hours of qualifying courses and 2000 hours of experience. It does not mention taking the test again. I hope I read this right. Did anyone else here get this letter? You might want to give them a call.

AQB Compliance

I also received the letter. I will probably give them a call today just for clarification and to have them send me an application.

Robert Lockwood,

Rod must have been having a "brain cramp" when he told you about the three additional classes. You can tell him I said that!!! I'm not on the Board, but, refer to my posts of 12-23 and 12-27 in this thread and you will see that is what I said at that time. SLAs need only to prove 2,000 hours of experience above their licensure to be AQB compliant. You have only lost four months, what the heck!! Been there, done that! Good luck.

AQB Compliant

Robert, I have tried to explain that to him and to Tiffany and they told me I would need to take actually 4 classes (same ones trainees take to upgrade to liciense) and sit for the exam just to become AQB compliant. Now just this week I get their letter that says just what you stated and what I always knew, 2,000 hrs and 90 hrs of courses. Sent in the application today.

AQB Compliant

Well here it is, got a reply today from the board. They reviewed my application and they say I have meet the requirements to become AQB compliant. But now I must wait for 2 weeks up to 2 months for a reviewer to pick 3 of the appraisals on my log and have me send in the appraisals for review. This is getting crazy. Am I the only one going through this?
