Business was good in March & April. May hits and all the work stops. I am getting random jobs in areas I do not cover (all over the state). I have never been this slow in May except during Covid and I have been doing this since 1998. No jobs in almost 3 weeks. I am in Northern New York near the Saratoga/Lake George area. This is nuts.

It's been up and down. April is usually my busiest month but it was bad this year.

Hopefully, your situation is temporary. I also hit slow periods for unknown reasons. 3 weeks is not that long. If it stretches for more than 2 months, time to hit the phone or email and contact clients see what is going on.

I once hit a slow period and found out that I didn't renew many E and O insurance with my clients, so they stopped sending work until I did. DOH

Slammed in upstate NY Hudson Valley Maybe it's regional?

I've had eye surgery this month so 2 is where it will stay and next month is the last ini business for me.

I think one of my clients tightened their lending standards, and they are not competitive right now.

Order volume fell off a cliff the last week in central Cali.

I am slammed. Weird how some of us are slow or busy at different times...hope it picks up for everyone experiencing a slowdown.

Mortgage Rates Hit 9-Month High, Freezing Out Homebuyers In Peak Season

"It freaks people out."

.. need to discount the price to equal the rise in mortgage interest rates :ROFLMAO:

I'm not really seeing any freezing out from the rates.

New pendings here last 30 days, including all property types, is overall on pace or higher than last year. Increasing number of listings resulting in increasing number of sales compared to a year ago.

The only weak spot is condos. New pendings last 30 days for condos is down pretty significantly compared to May last year, and that's with active listings higher than last year. Before condos only looked weak in the city but now I am seeing evidence of weakness for condos in the suburbs.
