Musk's Grok-3, Anthropic's Claud-4 and several other new LLM versions are about to be released. By the end of the year, some of us may need a more powerful desktop. At the same time, expect these newer versions to cost more. It is going to get very expensive.

Grok3 debuted tonight it looks great though I don't use AI for programming it'll run $30 and eventually integrate with Tesla cars. Will have voice control as well the next cluster is already underway. Full release by the 24th

I just had Grok-3 review my new paper: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.14787917.

Not bad at all. It rated the individual parts, checked the logic, and even checked the math (one small typo I have to check out).

Yes, it is missing verification of some statements, which really isn't allowed in a strictly academic journal (and some of my statements would require digging through a ton of Treasury reports and investigations - which takes time.

Also the paper is not finished, as I have two major sections to add and a public link for Repository R code. So, all in due time.

You are on a whole different level that paper is nuts

Claude 3.7 just came out, it's way overzealous for code/software related tasks. It goes off and does all sorts of things I didn't ask for and even goes as far as breaking things. Guess it's back to 3.5 for me.

What does it do that you dont like. I know nothing but did make a rudimentary Oregon Trail/Skyrim game with grok3 lol. Python and another place it sent me to were completely new to me though it worked! I think AI is at a point now where noobs can actually get something useful/informative out of it

Have you ever submitted your paper in this forum?

I guess I'll have to hang onto my Compaq 386 with Win95 install for a little longer
Found an old 286 laptop (weighed about 10 lb.) that had been stuck in a box for 30 years and gave to a hobbyist ham/civil defense/radio repair and former Radio Shack employee guy. He tinkered with it and actually got it to come on. I've given him several old computers and he has gotten several back to life. Called the other day about a Toshiba laptop I had that I bought when 7 first came out. It was dead as a mackerel in a can, but he revived it and said it worked well. Something on the mother board he was able to fix. Wanted to make sure I didn't have any pictures on there that I wanted to save. Just a self-taught nerd who does this as a hobby in retirement.
