On the calculations area it has the letters EDDT - beside it the area is described,
ie. "gar" "garage" "800" s.f.
I am puzzled what EDDT stands for..?
Jody

I have never seen that on any of my sketches. Is it something you typed in? Only the identification that I type in appears on my calculations addendum. On the sketch addendum there are some abbreviations but I can't figure out which area eddt would describe. Could you print your sketch to a pdf file and then post it here?

Okay, all.

In previous versions, Apex had a DDT. In Version 3, it is now the EDDT, or ENHANCED DDT. This is a highly technical acronym.

DDT stands for, are you ready for this? "Drop Down Thingy"!

Well, just goes to show ya...learned something new today! :rainfro:

"enhanced drop down thingy"

I'm waiting for Otis to weigh-in on this one.

It doesn't get printed. It is the area at the bottom of the display that contains area and status information.

From the Apex manual:
Located at the bottom of the Work Area is the EDDT. This multi-function control is designed to display the current (or last) Defined Area and its status or area calculation. It will also display what drawing mode the program is in (e.g. Free Form mode, Draw First mode, etc.). Additionally, whenever a selected text or dimension item is changed to a smaller or larger size, the current Area information is temporarily replaced by the font name and size.

Per Apex Software's "official" employment policy manual, I have duly noted the date and time that we can confirm that someone has actually READ the manual.

Thanks, Bruce! :rainfro:

Mark,
I know I can be gulible, but really, DDT stands for drop down thingy? You're kidding right? I have read the manual and think it was done well. There's an awful lot of material which is very helpful. Thanks.
Jody

Jody,

I have worked here for 5 years now. Yes, that is what DDT stands for.

We are a professional company that takes a lot of pride in our product and our service to our customers. That, we take very serious.

However, we are a small enough company that we have a light-hearted approach to life in general, and we are not above having fun.
