Yes, please let ME know, too - LOL. If you let me know exactly what you mean - what is missing, etc., perhaps I can help - by either explaining a new (perhaps better/more efficient?) way, or by looking into tweaking something that is not working right. My aim is always to add things people ask for but not abandon critical features or functionality that people have become dependent on to get things done.
When sending me info, some basic hardware/software information is helpful:
1. The versions of Apex you are using/comparing. To find your version number(s), select "About" from the Help menu. Please indicate the version number and date shown in the dialog.
2. Your computer basics - primarily the OS (XP,Vista, etc.) and RAM. Knowing your OS (i.e. XP, Vista, etc.) is helpful, but not critical unless one of your versions is v4.0. There was a menu problem with Apex Medina v4.0 in Vista, but v4.1 eliminated that issue and it was a free update. On the RAM, I just need to know if there is a resource issue at play. For instance, if you are trying t use one of the larger forms programs on a machine with 256 MB or 512 MB of RAM, this may be a factor.
3. The final piece of routine info appreciated is your forms software name/version number and whether you are experiencing a difficulty while in integrated mode, stand-alone mode or both.
On the program functionality, the more details you give me, the better I can understand where the difficulties may be. "It just takes me longer" doesn't help any. Something like "I find that in vX.xx, it takes me longer to put text in place because in the newer version , I have to __________." (fill in the blank with your own observation. Many times, what you are wanting to do has been improved by using a different technique. On the other hand, sometimes we try to improve things by doing what WE think people want, only to find out the new way actually slows people down, so we'll try to restore functionality to the "old" way in an update while still leaving in the new way for people who like it. Trying to accommodate a push toward new things while retaining old things can sometimes cause conflicts, but we try to do what people ask for with each new update/version. So, the better I understand what the majority of people want, the better I can address your needs and desires...
Let me know so I can see what I can do. You can post here, or write me at the address spelled out below. Again, the more detail you give, the better I can perhaps understand the nature of the difficulties you are having. Attaching sketch files and other examples is appreciated if they are appropriate. I am on the road next week with spotty Internet access, but I will get to things as fast as I can. BTW, we are nearing a new update release with some fixes and tweaks, so be on the look out for that on our web site. Users with v4.x should automatically get an update notice unless you have the Auto-Update option turned off. On earlier versions, knowing your version and date helps because sometimes an issue was resolved in a minor update and you may not have enven known it was available, so IF there is a fix for a problem and it is available in a free update, then I'll let you know. FWIW, you can always go to our web site and check your version number vs. the most recent version shown on the site.
