Apex Medina Codes

Hey everyone,
The local assessor here uses Apex Medina for their sketches (is that Version 4?). I'm trying to decipher their codes (G=garage, etc), but there are a few I can't guess. Does anyone have a link to, or a copy of the users manual? It may be that the user changed the codes; a lot of them are just one letter: T, L, B, U. I also see a V/B, BF, and so on.)

Yes, Apex Medina is the version between Apex 3 and Apex 5. Never looked at the users manual, using Apex since it first came out. So the codes you are looking for relate to the defined area drawn, or/and the room descriptions?

Yeah, they seem to be area descriptions. G is for garage. I got that one. But the others...? Here's the sketch I'm currently looking at. This comes up all the time for me.

And again, I realize that it may be a system that's specific to this assessor.

Usually apex sketches include a summary below the actual sketch, describing the areas drawn, is that the case here.

Hi Wasatch,

On most "Assessor Versions", the Define Area codes are specific to the individual CAMA system or local Assessor's office. The codes used in the Define Area dialog can be (and almost always are) changed from the standard one to their specific ones by the end user, generally the local appraiser or they are tied in with their CAMA system. If you will let me know what county you're in, I'll be happy to look them up in our customer database, give them a call and get the info for you. Hopefully, I can put together a "matrix" or similar which has at least the most common codes mapped to what you see in the regular version. We do this all the time when counties are changing CAMA system, etc. but we'll obviously need their guidance/input. Generally, there is no issue other than getting to the right friendly person on the phone, letting them know why we want the info and waiting for them to get around to it. Maybe the time of year will help

FWIW, a lot of times, items like

• "L/B" = something like "Living over Basement",
• "L" = "Living" (no Basement underneath),
• "BF" = "Basement Finished"...

The U might mean "Unfinished" but based upon the Area's location, I am stumped. Besides, it that were the case, one might think it would be "BU"...
Based on locations, I am guessing that the T and V refer to what we'd call Porches, patios (Terrace, Veranda?)

In any case, Brian and I will reach out to them today and I'll let you know something as soon as I can.
I am truly curious about their codes and we always like an opportunity to connect with users and learn more...
Hopefully, we'll get at least the basic items down in time for it to be of use to you on the current assignment but if not, perhaps it will be useful in future assignments...

Yes, Weber Co. is using a custom area code table for their Area Definitions. I was able to get some of the codes translated for you (see image attached). I took a screenshot of the default area code table in Apex Sketch v7 Standard and listed the codes Weber is using next to the approperate code(s) in the list.
