Apollo Hydro Heat System

That is good to know Liz. The system I saw used two water heaters in tandem with the first actually being the pre-heat. This doubled the 45,000 BTU of each and was sufficient to heat comfortably heat the 3+-car garage here in northern Michigan. Unlike your system, there was no domestic water taken from the system. Only heat in an in-floor system. It was a closed system.

Most water heaters can certainly handle 140 degrees with no problems.

Thanks for the info. Bet I'll see it in a cabin or hunting camp some time

Up here in New England over the past couple of years, builders in the new construction area have now gone to a "hydro-heating" system, but it is based off a typical furnace type set up; haven't really gotten into it as they were far & few between, so I'll request some info on it from a builder and give you the take on it. In our area, it needs to be efficient, as they need approval via State Code and it needs to be energy efficient. I've been told the cost of installation of one of these systems is approximately $15,000 to $20,000 for a basic 240-2800 SF dwelling. :)
