The use of borrower-engaged appraisals for GSE and related residential assignments was prohibited 30+ years ago. Long before you took your first Appraisal 101 course.

I wouldn't say never, but if that had predominantly been the case then the MBs wouldn't have complained as much as they did about losing control over the appraisers.
 
They sealed the amount of damages paid to Plaintiffs but some say it was in excess of $500K. Appraisers career is over .

they should of sued the lender...they are responsible for the selection of the appraiser...oh never mind it was probably jpepstien :ROFLMAO:
 
I think the lender did get sued and they also settled out of court.
