I have gone 90% digital workfile but I still end up with handwritten notes and odds and ends so I keep a very small paper file.

J... My dad came up with a file system that makes it easy to find any file in minutes not matter how many years have gone by. It's from the old days when compute file names could only have so many characters. 3 letter abbreviation for the city, street number in full, abbreviated street name to the point it can be discerned. So, 54231 Oceanview Dr., Gualala, CA would be GUA54231OCN.

I would need to pay someone to digitze the files 5 years worth plus an overwhelming project so I just keep them in boxes. For future maybe will.. I guess I am old school by now...something reassuring about a physical paper copy ( though hope I never have to find one, they are in order but not the greatest organizer)

And so, appraisers retire in the Dominican Republic? Interesting. Someone ought to do a survey.
