Just curious if any other inmates of Wayne's world... er that is forumites are planning to attend, and see if anyone wants to get together at a particular time/place while there?
Hey Paul, why don't you join us in Hawaii. Hit the beach and drink a few. We have all worked pretty hard over the last year and need some R & R. Also, this is one you can write off on taxes although doubt I will be thinking all that much about appraising.
Used to live on Oahu, and have had occasion for business travel to or through several times over the years since leaving my idea of paradise... I am intending to go blow some bubbles, boogie board, and kayak! Hey all work and no play makes jill a really cranky person!
For anyone interested: Budget rents a weekly (5 or more days) rate on the little extended cab Ranger pickup trucks that permits the schlepping of water related toys without inconvenience. North end of the Island is a pretty cool place where you can see (sort of) how the locals USED to live...
Polynesian Culture Center is one of the best fast overviews of the different Pacific and Marianas cultures going and well worth every dime of the admission fee.
Bishop Museum is also pretty cool.
Anyone wanting gifts for folks back home should hit the weekend flea market at Aloha Stadium: best buy on tee-shirts hats and other tourist knick-knacks available.
Oh well I shall be attending and probabaly wearing a teal blue dress on day 1, shorts and tees after that  Formal isn't practical or reasonable in the islands even for a conference.
What better chance am I going to get to 'go home' again AND visit my folks near San Francisco on the way back to the flatlands while writing off the travel fee?
Lee Ann, your a long way from home. From Hawaii to the Midwest? I'm sure there's a interesting story in there somewhere. Hope to meet you and others out there under the Palm Tree's. I will have a MAI Tai in my hand.
