I know for a fact I got hooked into the hard money investor group back in the day because the guy negotiating with me told me he was talking to me because of the designation. After that my boots on the ground education really started.

I get asked once or twice a year if I have an MAI, at which point I provide them with a referral.

I suppose if one uses a broad enough definition, it works.
