Appraiser Bias Education

Good question. I pulled this from PA.gov: "If a certified appraiser satisfies the 7-Hour Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations Course requirement prior to the biennial renewal period ending on 6/30/2025, the appraiser will be required to complete the 4-hour course prior to the biennial renewal period ending on 6/30/2027 and for each biennial renewal cycle thereafter."
You should HAVE to do even more hours on racism, yearly because we are so bad the recidivism for us horrible damaging racist appraisers. Well the pull is very strong to be bad so the leash on us should be short otherwise, 7 hour class, within months we'd all slide back to dumping values left and right on POC just cuz, right ? /s Personally, I was so tremendously insulted and pissed on the two inspections where i was handed comps ( that were not comps ) told to hit a certain very high value or else a racism/bias complaint would be filed. Blew my mind. Obviously I did not complete the appraisals. that was nearly 3 years ago.

I have not been called racist by anyone. So I am lost on your reply to my post. I am simply repeating the mantra about our entire industry/profession by those like Maxine Waters, Biden, Marcia Fudge, etc etc.

Which means no one believes they are a racist even when it is blatant and obvious...Like when you or Fern hates MAGA or Southerners and Fern is terrified of Texas, rural areas, etc...same thing. I remember when a black businessman from Atlanta was beaten to death on a beach near Boston long after the Civil Rights Act. He didn't know the local "rules"... no blacks on this beach. Even in the Civil War, Lincoln had to be careful to not offend Northern soldiers who did not view the CW as being about race, rather it was just about whether the states had the right to cede from the Union. The Emancipation Proclamation was delayed over his fear, and in fact, the EP didn't free the slaves of Northerners, only those in the South.

I said your post was not clear when you replied directly to my post. Your follow up provided zero extra clarity. NO big, whatever your point is, you understand it, that is all that matters.
 
Just like with your driver license, the states license appraisers. Terms and conditions apply. That includes terms and conditions which are being prompted by the prevailing politics of the day, both at the state level and the national level.

"Just say no" is not one of the alternatives for a professional appraiser. There will be life after Trump47 so even if the DEI and intersectionality themes are currently in remission they will be back at some point in the future. It's just a matter of time before appraisers receive the StageIV diagnosis again. Appraisers should proceed accordingly. Everything you say can and will be used against you. Forever.

We have a couple people on this forum who are still keeping score, tallying your offenses up on your permanent record. Be smart.

Anyone know how many hours the Banks are required to take including "racial bias" ?

Reviewers ? AMC's?
 
My guess is that every cubicle farm in every bank and every AMC is probably getting an all-hands staff meeting on the topic every month.
