Appraiser board

. I simply believe in state boards and commissions adhering to the law
That has been one of two major problems with boards. A - they ignore the law they swore to uphold and B - they sought a position on the board because they had a personal axe to grind with someone.

On of the most extensive discussions on this forum dates back 20 years and involves the conduct of the NCAB at that time not following their own rules and also not operating with the same level of diligence and objectivity about the specifics of appraising as appraisers are charged with.

Like all law and government, officials and organizations can do pretty much whatever they want to do... until someone calls them on it. Likely, no one on Speaker Moore's staff bothered to think about that before the appointment was made. This governor seems to like to fight. Contact the governor's office and point out the problem. Who knows? Maybe Moore will appoint one of us instead.

I personally think boards should not be appointed. I think licensed appraisers should be able to vote them in the office.

Same with TAF. etc.

On boards I mean all licensed appraisers in the State. On TAF, all licensed appraisers nation wide.

I have a question since I got you going. How in the world is it right for anybody to nominate a person to a State board or TAF unless they are a licensed appraiser?

Vote. Let the candidates email the licensed appraisers in nation and state and let them vote who they want on State board or TAF. Then present it to Congress or Governor of the State.

State would be state licensed appraisers. TAF would be nationwide licensed appraisers.

George you remember me well! I exposed a lot of improper, illegal and unethical situations. I would have loved to have been on the oars I would never and will never purchase a seat with a campaign contribution. I have not followed much board activity in the last several years. Out of the loop.

I have challenged TWO appointments in the past, when they were made (before they ever attended a meeting) and they were both "unappointed". They did not meet the qualifications as sated in NC 93e. It was/is nothing personal at all. I simply believe in state boards and commissions adhering to the law.
Do you think a board can still dispense actions against appraisers if the members appointed to the board do not meet the state law qualifications for board qualifications and number of each license type. I think it is an illegal quorum. And they fail to meet a means test by state law requirements ans this their actions are illegal as they don't meet the quorum qualifications per state law

I have no idea. That would be a legal question and I am no lawyer. If that were true they might have to go back and throw out some board actions for as long as they ere out of compliance with state law. We have a Governor and Speaker of the house that made those appointments. Both of them will be leaving office this year. I doubt they really care much about this.
