If an appraiser works strictly as a Property Data Collector for a particular property, are there any certifications or limiting conditions that need to be a concern?
Does EO company need to be contacted? Does the appraiser have the same liability when acting only as a PDC? Does USPAP come in to play when an appraiser works as a PDC only?

At a minimum you should call your E&O Carrier and see if your current policy covers you.

Why are you posting this under a different forum? There were so many responses under the other post. Are you going to turn down appraisal assignments while doing only PDC work? What is the client says "Hey, you're licensed, can you just go ahead and work up the appraisal? I don't know know why appraisers would want to do just PDC work. Why even keep up the CE and E & O insurance? When any unlicensed person could do those? How do the appointments get set up, etc.

I did not repost it here. Someone else must have moved it. My subject heading was "Appraiser working strictly as a Property Date Collector". Someone changed the subject heading to "Appraiser liability when working as a Property Date Collector" and inserted me as the author.
