Appraiser Trainee Education Requirements (CA)

Here's what I would do in your case. I would take the 75 "core" hours for your AT license from the AI and take the other 75 hours from one of the online education providers - just enough to take your test and pass the exam. Then I'd follow up with the rest of the CertGen requisites at my leisure from the AI as you accumulate your experience hours. You'll still do a little backtracking but when you go through the material again for your AI classes some of that will be review.

Thanks George! This seems like a reasonable course of action. What is your reasoning for recommending someone other than AI for the 75 hours of residential classes. AI does offer online classes for these... are other online options cheaper/easier when trying to just knock out the "extra" hours and test?

Thanks!

You might be able to find those courses elsewhere a little cheaper and easier. Or, you may decide to just stick with the AI - there's certainly nothing wrong with that. The AT is going to be your ticket to play, not a destination as such. The other CertGen courses are where it may make a difference in your resume.
