Good afternoon,
I apologize if I am posting this in the wrong spot. My name is Mike and I am looking to become an Appraiser Trainee in Michigan. I am located in the Southfield area and am willing to commute to receive the required training. If there are any Appraiser’s willing to take on a trainee I would greatly appreciate it. I have completed the necessary courses and have my certificates. I am a quick learner and hard worker! Thank you all for your time!

Your timing could not be any worse. There are a LOT of headwinds against appraisers at present. Please take some time to read this and other forums on the following:

Hybrids
Waivers
AVMs
no more HELOCS due to the inflation caused increase in interest rates
and so on...

Demand for appraisers has not been this low perhaps ever--though some old timers may remember tougher times.

If you are depending on appraising for income over the next 2-3 years, it will be really hard finding someone that has enough work to share with you. Many appraisers are already looking into other work, and summer is typically the peak season for work.

Not trying to discourage you, but if you have other choices for a career, please consider it, or at least do some serious research first.
