Hello everyone,

I am currently an Appraiser Trainee, applied for a position in the accessor's office and have a Written Examination coming up. I'm super excited and wanted to see if anyone has tips, recommendations etc. for the written exam and the possible interview process in general. Any information is really appreciated, even if it's more general about a career at other county accessor's offices.

Thank you!

Practice your people skills. Much more public interaction than fee appraising. I really was a referee like my avatar...that was great training for assessor. Have yet to deal with an angry taxpayer that was worse than a stadium full of 12yr olds' parents.

My favorite words for the 1st 3 years: "I'll get back to you with an answer."
Cause there WILL be stuff you don't know...don't wing it...learn the right answer and get back to them asap.

Good luck.
