How do most of you handle this? basically the address is nowhere to be found in public records.

???.............what are you doing appraising government workers?

However, I think I know what you mean. Many brand new homes are not yet acknowledged by the assessor's office. See if you can get the APN and search by number, get the buyer's name and search by name. Call the title company that handled the sale. You will need the lot number (not the APN) or the buyer's name, the tract name or the escrow number. In my area we can get the document number from the recorder's office but we need an APN to do that. Generally, the title company will provide the doc# for you and they will give you a transfer tax. You can calculate the purchase price from the transfer tax if you know the formula. If you do not have the formula, you can get it from the tax COLLECTOR. (not the tax assessor.)

What type of Goverment worker. I have appraised for police, sheriff, FBI, US ARMY, US NAVY, as well as AID, CIA, NID, US Forest Service and US Park Service law enforcement, DNR law enforcement USDA and NPS members. I have never had a problem establishing a legal location for the property that I was appraising.

Plese refine your question.

What you come up with for a value?? Try reseaching under parcel number.

I am not sure if you have IRIS in jacksonville but you can get the info off their maps with a trick I use. YOu have to enter the address of the property next door. Then on the map select the parcel for your subject and then it will give you a property card for that parcel. IF you enter the property address it will not give you any info?(since the info is blocked). So you have to backdoor it through IRIS maps.

I hope that makes sense.

I've seen a private government employee's private property records sold by FNC's collateral DNA. Strange, it exactly matched the appraisal done for that person on the new house that had just been built. That property record in FNCs collateral DNA had all the property information and names of owners, etc., - and included that it's copyrighted by FNC. Wonder how they got that private - NON-PUBLIC - information about that property that exactly matches an appraisal report that was not even sent through AppraisalPort nor any of their buddy AMCs?

Anyway, if there has been a recent appraisal done on that private, non-public information, property, FNCs collateral DNA will probably sell that information to you and just about anybody else that wants to buy it.

Ray - some states protect some government workers by making their private info, i.e. address and home info, unaccessible to anyone but themselves. I guess some cops etc. don't want perps on bail to be able to look them up and off them in the middle of the night.

My parcel record is hidden - my husband works for the county in a position that sometimes upsets people. I'm grateful they help shield us a bit.

This is common and the tax/parcel record can be had with only a bit of hassle.

Wade - Go the assessor's/appraisers office and show them your license and ID and explain why you need the information. If Duval is like Volusia, they will contact the property owner and with their approval release the information to you.

Its a Fireman. Thanks for the replies. I have handled it before with police officers but was curious what everyone else does.
