Ah, yes, we are a secret society and we don't like intruders. Actually, I think working as an apprentice should be enough for any prospective appraiser to realize whether this is the right business for them. Keep in mind that we are supposed to be a shrinking profession. Why would anybody want to start fresh or anew in a business that is supposedly burning up the fumes left in its gas tank. Remember, AI says that only 30% of mortgage lonas will need an appraisal by 2005.

Issued by whom. Many of those Tech Designations aren't worth the paper they are printed on. There are many of those Tech "Certificate Mills" out there, some you can get on line.
