At what point does a crawlspace become a basement?

Enhanced crawlspace? Nah, call it a crawlspace and move on.

When it's below ground and the minimum floor to ceiling height meets code requirements for basements. I'd have to look it up to be sure, but I think it's 6'8".

Agreed....but for some reason thought it was 6'6".

If you are a Ted Bundy, it can be a cemetery.

Otherwise I would call it a crawlspace. I did one, that 4.5' high, concrete floor. Pipes and duct work hanging below the 4.5' ceiling (?). Owner got upset that I did not call it a basement. But it is what it is.

I'd say 7 feet high for basement, as ANSI requires 7 feet for GLA except for where there are beams/ducts etc.

Pap,

off topic, I know. Maybe we should consider it from a different perspective such as in control or out of control and all this other nonsense and analysis is really just a consequence and distraction of reality.

A crash may simply be a loss of control or maybe it was intended and therefore, very much in control. If excessive spending and debt were the deliberate intention, then things are going as planed.

:Emoticon_hug: with this post, I'm in love.

Nice call Mark!

PS,

Don't let Pete see it.

Whatever phrase is used, I'm referring to the inevitable debt bomb exploding, a return to high interest rates, inflation, and when government can longer support the lifestyle of which its dependent wards have become accustomed.

We're not there yet but it's coming.

Pap,

when I talk like that, people avoid the conversation and develop this awkward expression on their face.

I was beginning to think I was the only one on earth paying attention.

I have my generous and polite moments.......lol
