Yes, I took the course from McKissock, "Appraising FHA Today", and you do not have to be already practing FHA Appraiser.

Check to see if the NAIFA has a FHA class in your area. Many IFA members have done FHA work for years and will give you a good hands on approach.
 
well I found the answer I was looking for: 10-12 weeks. To think I was getting anxious after a week.

for what it's worth, AI class was very good.

Just an update,

I just got my email today confirming I am on the Roster. It took a month and 3 days. The AI course was very good. I also like how I could print the web pages for future reference.
 
Meh, I was trained by an FHA Appraiser of 10-15 years. I went on about 40 jobs over 2 years, and I sat there why he typed them up. Just have your mentor train you, don't waste money on a course.
