Some confusion with functional bedrooms here. The car itself cannot be a bedroom, per ansi ceiling height, it is a canopy bed. But, sleeping in the car in the garage would make garage a bedroom. co detector required and some drywall, etc.

But it can be a bedroom, just on a separate line. After all there is ingress and egress.
