jnordquist,

There is a setting in your existing Apex software for rounding down to your commonly used increments... :-)

Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu
Select the "Input" tab
Tap the "Enable Disto Input"
Select the desired increment from the "Round Disto Input" list below

Your choices are:
Don't Round
Whole Unit
Half Unit
Tenth Unit

Hope this helps!

Thanks, I'm going to try that out this weekend, I got a nice sqare brick ranch to do.

Glad to be of help!

Now that you already know how to use a Disto well, using the BT functionality you already own is the next logical step in increasing your efficiency. Give it some time and learn the ins and outs of using the BT methods and you'll come to really love it. Remember, like using a Disto vs. a tape, using the BT methods sometimes means approaching some things a little differently, but in the end you'll be ahead of the game. Also, just because you have BT enabled, it doesn't mean that is the only input method - you can use the regular keypad input when appropriate or desired... :-)

FWIW, the BT methodology was designed into and around the original Disto Plus. The A6 is inferior to the Plus in some regards, but it still works OK. We plan to make a change to the methods in the near future.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

I really wish they would make a disto that was the size of a pack of cigs, that had the built in scope, and just the plus / minus features. I like the smaller, simple disto's that they have now....they just don't include the scope...which is a MUST. Why can't they just make a small, simple, disto with a built in scope??

The expensive high end disto's are nice, but they are overkill for measuring a house. That new D5 looks great, but for me it would be like buying Bently just to go drive a few blocks, when all I need is a basic honda civic, but with cruise control (ie...the scope)

Bottom line.....PLEASE PUT A SCOPE IN THE SMALL / SIMPLE DISTO !!!!!!

So, is it possible that there may be a new BT Disto? I'm almost ready to purchase the A6, but I would really like to see what;s next.
