We got the new ISM number this morning and while better than forecasted (47.9 est. vs. 49.0 actual) it still indicates a decline for the 11th month in a row following 15 months of decline in leading economics indicators. Put a fork in Bidumbnomics, he's done.

On a local level the $6.50 -$7.00 a gallon gasoline, increased utilities prices, and food are really starting to show in how people are acting and spending. In my area many commute long freeway drives everyday and also Governor Gruesome just past the $20.00 per hour fast food wage and many will have to stop eating out. It seems its all converging at one time on the working class. The Upper income no big deal but for the average Joe it's quite painful. My guess is its all going to start being unable to hide in bogus statistics and by next year Biden administration is going to have a hard sell as Americans know its all BS.Its the Titanic and the Iceberg is not to far out :)

Requests for assistance are through the roof as gas prices are displacing the ability to purchase food in low income households. Economic policy by the deranged.

I see a massive conversion to robotics in the fast food industry in California. That's unfortunate on many levels. First, it means a lot of layoffs. Second, it means more automated order taking, no more taking the order over an intercom. It means auto frying robots will cook the meat and fries and a robot will deliver the meals to the customer. You will self-serve the drinks. Figure about 30% staff reduction, maybe 50%. Then once the bugs are worked out, these companies will realize it costs less to do this everywhere, and they will automate their stores across the nation, depriving many young people, students, and others a job they need to further their education or pay as you go to school, regardless of the wage scale.

It is what happens when the non-economic model of the way it should be runs headfirst into the brickwall of the way it really is.

Interesting in "fast food out here I was talking to a Burger King manager and she said they are talking about closing all indoor dining as are the other major fast food chains in California. Also do to theft and robberies and homeless hanging around inside all day. My guess is we will go back to drive through only which will also eliminate a lot of employees jobs. It all makes sense or we are going to see the $15 Big Mac out here in CALI in a few years.

Where is the current Trump economic model? Will it be forthcoming similar to his words-only replace Obamacare plan? :)

I think right now all we care about is the model we are living in. BUT the ours and the worlds economies have all been hit real hard by the cost and sanctions we created in the Ukraine War and its something we are all going to have to deal with. I hope Biden or a new President puts Americans first and F-the Ukrainians as they have stolen enough US and NATO money .

Just a matter of time.

I was in CA a couple weeks ago (Lake Tahoe, Pebble Beach) and I stopped at a McD somewhere between Tahoe and Sonoma. Egg muffin meal and extra mcmuffin. $17. WTF??? That's after I had to say McMuffin about 4 times to the non-English speaker behind the counter.

That along with $6 gas...I guess you get what you vote for out there.
