I see a massive conversion to robotics in the fast food industry in California. That's unfortunate on many levels. First, it means a lot of layoffs. Second, it means more automated order taking, no more taking the order over an intercom. It means auto frying robots will cook the meat and fries and a robot will deliver the meals to the customer. You will self-serve the drinks. Figure about 30% staff reduction, maybe 50%. Then once the bugs are worked out, these companies will realize it costs less to do this everywhere, and they will automate their stores across the nation, depriving many young people, students, and others a job they need to further their education or pay as you go to school, regardless of the wage scale.
