Blood Test to detect Prostate Cancer

Most men will die with prostate cancer. Not because of it.
But you can. My relative who was diagnosed when in his 80s was told he wasn't likely to die from it. But 10 years later he did. He took meds and was castrated, replacing with plastic ones... Said, "I wasn't using them anyway." Miss the old guy though.

i did have that surgery. i would say it depends on your age. if you understood what is done, then you can see that there will some nerve damage also involved. at the age i got it, i was heading towards gender neutral anyway. i only found out how bad it was from a blood test, it didn't seem to affect me. but it's a definite thought on doing, or not doing it. at my age i considered it preventive surgery.
they did a scan test to see if it spread to the bones, a scary thought.

Exactly. A Gleason score of 6-7 at age 60 indicates some type of action should be taken. The same score at age 80 is little more than something to keep an eye on.

I am a prostate Cancer Survivor. No they did not remove it. Been fourteen years. PSA is very low. I do check it annually at the VA.

Warning... Health Insurance companies often don't pay for PSA after a certain age. My Advice: Pay for it yourself. Last I checked it cost about $100. Cheap considering that if you get a blood test and do have a positive/HIGH PSA the sooner it is detected then survival rate goes way up. Meaning you won't die.

Here is what is most dangerous about Prostrate Cancer. Bone Cancer
