Borrowers Names Too Long For Uad Field

IMHO the see addendum method would probably be the way that would not result in a revision request. Hard to go wrong when complete name is in report. Most of my clients require full borrower and owner of record names. Have this situation at least once a month.

Ok. Two against one. :) I'm going the see addendum way. It does make a bit more sense. Thanks for your advice.

Jim

Here's the note I sent them:

Small problem. The borrowers names are: (redacted for this post). Their names are too long for the UAD field on Page 1. If I remove their middle initials it will fit in the Borrower field, but still won't fit in the Owner of Record field.

Seems to be three ways to resolve this:

1. Put in full names and let it violate UAD and UDCP (probably a bad choice).
2. Put in the first borrowers name followed by et al. (then explain in addendum)
3. Fill boxes with "See Addendum" and explain the whole mess there.

Any ideas?

Jim

1-Probably not an option. Not really sure but could result in hard stop
2-They might go with it. But equals same amount of explanation as 3
3-probably the winner

I've been there. I just put "See Addendum" in the filed on the first page and then in the addendum explain that the names are too long for the UAD formatted field and state the borrowers name. Its awkward, but I've done it twice now with no pushback.

this is the way i have handled it in the past and never got anything back about doing so.

If no reply from the lender...that's the way I'm going. Thanks.
