BPO's in Indiana

Appraisers in Indiana can NOT list/sell unless they also are a broker (or sales person). Why not? Beats me. Just the law. Years ago when there was no such thing an an appraiser's license, naturally brokers were the appraisers. That ability just continues to be in effect. The Feds set and run the rules for appraisers for the most part. There is no provision for listing/selling in the fed's rules.

Can licensed appraisers in Indiana list and sell real estate (real property interests)?

If not, why not?

No, because you have to have a salesman's or broker's license to list and sell real estate in IN and the salesman has to be associated with a broker; can't work on his own.
