Builder's don't like my articles

If you really wanted to stir the puddin', you could buy an "ad" in the real estate section, and post what every you wanted. :)

Suz-- not only that, but many of the Oswego builders are offering concessions up to $100K! I had a buyer call me and he wanted me to appraise a house he was buying. I told him I needed the full cooperation of his builder. I called the builder and the salesman actually promised to cooperate.

The buyer called back the next day and cancelled the order. The builder talked him out of it. The buyer was knowledgable enough to realize the impact on value, but for some reason didn't want to follow through with it. Our market is a mess- so much for the fastest growing county in the country.

It's almost disgusting, isn't it. I don't see it getting too much better soon either.

I just did one yesterday with an $87,000 dollar incentive in Montgomery...Ryland homes.

I bet the builder told that buyer they have "a guy" that can get him what he needs. And I could probably name five in our greater area that would do it off hand. :nono: Tisk Tisk. And further more, the buyer probably knows what the reality of the situation is, but he wants his appraisal and doesn't care about reality, just what's best for him at the moment.

I'm sure William Randolf Hearst wouldn't allow that
sort of thing to happen with one of his newspapers.
I haven't subscribed to my local newspaper for 25
years. Maybe that's why those rags are dying.

NY Times circulation was down 10% this year.

I'll read their paper on the Internet and not pay attention to a single frame of advertising. That's why their circulation is down.

I've spared a thousand trees, and I never get that awful ink-stain on my hands.

Pat, Suz:)

Oswego? Is this Lee Lansford's fault?:)

Back in the day, the Columbia Journalism Review would love to include your story in the harpoon'ng section...maybe still but I'm not sure...
