I would have to agree with all the praise about the SONY MAVICA
I bought a used 1.9 mega pixel for $25.00 and have used it for a six months and I think it is great ......the floppy disk is an easy way to transfer from camera to PC and requires no software or hardware to be installed prior to transfering files .... and floppy are to cheap.
I LOVE it
thanks George
I also have the Olympus 4.0 mega pixel CAMEDIA (the stainless steel water resistant one) better quality pictures but not as easy to use or to transfer files.

I use a Olympus D390, with 3.1 Megapixels. I dont recommend it, because it is difficult to get wide angle shots. I have to back up allot to get the hole house in the shot.
I am looking for another one with a Wider angle and better batteries. I have had to run out to the car too often to get new batteries.
Any recommendations?
The wide-angle I can't help you with *unless* the front of that lens has any threading... some of the old "add-on" lenses fit the few Olympuses with threading dunno if that works for your model.... solved a problem for us temporarily!
As to the batteries? Get yoruself a set of rechargables and a car charger.
Pricy up front, but lasts for years if you cycle them properly AND you get more shots from the rechargables .
There are so many inexpensive 1+ megapixel cameras out there now that you coudl probably hit Best Buy or retailer of the week and find a good or decent buy for around 2 bills. Just walk in and see!
Last month Radio Shack and Circuit City were discountinuing the Kodak EasyShare CX6200 $50 2.0 megapixels I bought like 4 of them, for friends and relatives, very use friendly even w/o software..
Can't help because it's all personal preference - However, I subscribe to consumer reports, both written and .org, and that's where I get a bunch of my info from. Have a Sony CD Mavica that I bought new before subscribing and it's still cranking - at least 3 years. They are rating the FujiFilm cam best if you want and can spend the money.
Don,
Looks like the Kodaks overall, offer the widest angle at a reasonable price. Cant use the Sony MAV, since I dont have a floppy drive. Now to decide on whick Kodak.
I tell, decisions, decisions.
Thanks for the good advice.
