Does anyone know of any online AG classes that are approved or pending approval? I've traditionally taken my classes through McKissock but I understand they aren't even pursuing approval. As far as I can tell, the appraisal institute is the only place to take them.

Thanks!

I've taken the AI's General Appraiser Income Approach Parts 1 and 2 and General Appraiser market analysis and highest and best use. Each was a 4 day course and they were brutal. I can't imagine trying to cover this material in an online format.

Did you just wait for the classes to come to Northern California? I see you are located in Hopland. I'm in Santa Rosa.

Commercial Appraisal Online

If you are interested in becoming a Certified General Appraiser, Santa Rosa Jr. College offers RE 54 - Commercial Real Estate Appraisal. This is an online course that is offered during the Fall Semester. It is a one of a kind 3-unit course that is approved with OREA and DRE along with being CSU transferable.

Registration can be completed online at www.santarosa.edu. For the Fall, the Section # is 1465 and class begins on 8/18/08. It is strongly recommended that you register well in advance. Any additional questions can be asked through this forum or by contacting the instructor directly via the SRJC instructor's homepage.

OREA Number

From the OREA website: "Current Appraiser Qualifications Board criteria require that courses not offered by a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting body of U.S. Office of Education must be approved by the International Distance Education Certification Center (IDECC) for course delivery."

Santa Rosa Jr. College is a fully accredited institution that is exempt from IDECC per the above statement.

The OREA number for RE 54 Commercial Real Estate Appraisal is 08SRJ009.

Look it up!

Thanks for the post. I have taken the Commercial Real Estate Appraisal course (RE80J if my memory serves me correctly). I have about 2,500 commercial hours of experience and need to take the classes. I can't believe how expensive they are. I'm in the process of applying for a certified residential license... sounds like the new test is pretty tough.

Do you know what module the JC class satisfies?
