Capstone Demo - Apartments (need Help)

They stressed in our class that if it wasn't in the participant handbook, you did not need it. Can't speak to the office one though.
Good job on passing! The number of MAI designations quarterly is expected to go down, as the time limit for a lot of people expires at the end of 2015 (like mine). The time limit was good motivation for me to get it finished up! The demo component is a major hurdle for most, as it was for me.

Hi all

This is a long shot but I was seeing if someone who has completed The Village at Gracy Farms Capstone Demo would be willing to answer a couple of questions I have. I took the course in Oct 2015 and I struggled with the H&BU, effective age/life of improvements, and market support for improved sales.

When I attended the classroom, I tried to ask a lot of questions and requested for help in areas I got stuck. However, the instructors could not have been more vague and gave aloof answers and were very curt with their responses. I understand that is how the course is structured and the instructors are not supposed to give you answer, but I felt like I did not gain anything by aimlessly trying to write this report without a little guidance.

Could someone please get back to me either a PM or my email at qb_brown at hotmail dot com? I only have about 30 days until I can re-submit this report and if I do not pass then basically just pissed away $1500.

Thanks

Probably a little late for it now and I'm not sure if I could have told you much anyways, but I took the same session with the apartment complex in October. I agree that the instructors while very well meaning basically give answers like you'd find in a fortune cookie that are vague and essentially just "Read the materials and follow your instincts, there you will find the answers that you seek." I went to the first day of class only and just holed up the rest of the time writing the report.

I ended up passing, but I wouldn't stress too much about not passing after resubmitting revisions. I don't know anybody who's failed following a re-submission of a report barring just not reading the reviewer comments or turning in a crappy report. I'm relatively sure the AI would much rather have you paying $1400 in dues every year than potentially discouraging a candidate into not pursuing their designation and dropping out of the candidate program. Whether that's a good motive for them to have is a subject for another post.

txagbrown-

I don't want to come off like a jerk (so I apologize up front) but you need to be careful about asking for assistance with the Capstone Program.

I'm pretty sure we all signed a document about maintaining confidentiality regarding Capstone and potential ethics violations for failure to do so.

If that made me sound like a jerk, it might be a good thing no one can read my mind.
