CE Audit

So...our first CE audit round yielded 25% deficiencies resulting in discipline cases being filed. Unfortunately...10% is an acceptable number. As a result...we're EXPANDING the CE audit. In 75% of cases...less than 10 hours out of 28 were documented.
I'm not sure what the strategy is behind that...what? Saving a few bucks on courses? Whatever. We are really going to fine-tooth it now.
I processed over twenty today...most were fast-tracked to Prosecution.
It never ends.

Brian, do you compare with the provider's submitted data prior to doing the audit or is the audit a broadside request.

I think that we have all mine for a whole lot of years back.

I hope>

Brian,

When should we anticipate to receive our letter in regards to the audit? I get an immense amount of junk mail and I'm always fearful that I'll throw something important out!

This batch is already processed. What we've decided to do for the 2009 cycle is front-load audit. This means that 100% will be audited BEFORE you get renewed. This is the only way to make sure that people take their CE.

So...the audit will come with the RENEWAL in 2009. Those who wait until September of 09 to take CE will have to wait until we've verified it before the license print.

No, it never does end! It's why we have such problems in this industry and why the housing and mortgage markets are in the toilet. It's all about greed and I have NO sympathy for any of the liars and cheats. Go get em, Brian. I've offered to help in the past and my offer still stands.

Brian: I don't mean to attack you or the system, but what is the strategy behind working on the "honors" system with licensees who have already demonstrated that they have no honor? In my opinion, either providers or licensees should have been providing documentation of continuing ed on a going basis and the state should have been monitoring them.
