60/40

:rof:

A 60/40 fee split for a certified appraiser as an independent contractor status paying all of his fees for MLS, Insurance, Software, etc. seems laughable in our current market. Unless you are getting fee work for about $650-$700 then most folks in Washington making $400+ an appraisal are not likely to play ball.

But then again you've probably already filled the position.m2: Folks are desprite.

In today's industry, there are a lot of bad appraiser's out there that are desperate, which is why I have to be cautious as well on my end. The start is 60/40, but if that appraiser is good, it only goes up from there. I have a successful company in an area where I unfortunately have to turn work away because I can not do it all. I don't want someone desperate, I want someone that loves there job and wants to be successful with me.

Let us say that hypothetically the standard fee in your area is $400. You are offering 60% of that or $240.

You are providing the work but what else do you offer? In my opinion you are offering AMC garbage fees. What do you do to earn $160?

It appears to me that you are part of the problem.

BTW....what is the standard fee you are getting....how much is 60% in terms of dollars?

Over THERE, Over THERE, send the word, send the word to beware....

Seriously - a certified appraiser that does not know the difference between THERE and THEIR ??? And THEY'RE offering 60%. :rof::rof::rof:

I know a guy in Olympia that has a lot of time on his hands and could give her her money's worth! Should I make the referral?

PS. How do you know she's offering 60% and not 40%.?

Did you call the number?? :)

My mentor reduced my split to 60% (even though I was paying for all my own supplies and data services) and couldn't figure out why I quit.
