Clear Capital

Oh, no, guys.. something I should know? I've been working for them, but we're located in a rural area and despite the initial fee they offer, I tell them when I can deliver it, and at what fee. Works well so far -

Clear Capital is cool for a C&R fee. They used to pay good before but now they have the most random fees like $237 or $241. Im sure its a percetange but its pretty silly if you ask me.

The biggest problem with Clear Capital is that most of their orders are for CHASE now a days so I rather not work for them.

I was put on the black list of Chase back in 2004 and didnt come off it till 2010 I believe. They actually sent me letter saying that I'm no longer on the black list. I'm not trying to be back on it so I rather not do appraisals directly for them..........Although I feel blessed that I was on their black list because it prevented me from doing their appraisals during the boom of the market so I dont have to worry about being "sued or investigated" for any of their foreclosures now.

I wish it were that simple. If they own the loan now they feel they own you now!m2:

Oh I know they bought loans from other banks which could have been me who did the appraisal but I'm pretty sure I did a lot less that ended up there than it would have if I had been approved.

Hmm, food for thought. Those threads are very scarey, indeed.

Yes, a few have been Chase orders, many are Fannie and Freddie also. In the beginning of my working for them, they could be difficult to work with, but they have eased up a bit in their UW requests to a more reasonable tone.

I will have to rethink accepting the orders, for sure, though I've never had a problem, so far...

I like clear crapital.

They broadcast an order for peanuts....nobody accepts. They keep broadcasting it for a week or two. Maybe some out of town skippy accepts, then realizes that he is over his head. He withdraws from the job.

CC calls me. I quote big bucks and 3 weeks. They send it over. After a week, they call and ask if they can pay me more to get it in a few days earlier...lol

Of course you can!

That's because Chase has now demonstrated that an appraiser can be put on the USDA (hence FHA) and other blacklists for any reason and without appraiser recourse.

Yeah, scarey. And welcome to the New World of Appraising. Our motto is: "All of the liability, all of the time!"

I'm 0-90 since April (just checked my texts) with CC.

Low fees, rural properties and the crazy assignment conditions.

no thanks

I like the word irregardless. It's funny. An old bosun on a ship I was on (he had been in the Navy since WWII) used to say it all the time and we would (respectfully) mock him.

And not to nit pik but I suppose you meant "willingly." And not to nit pik on my nit piking but how would you work "unwillingly?" lol

I need to get here more often, it's nit pick. Irregardless. :new_smile-l:

Clear Capital looks at appraisers the way a butcher looks at a cow. How much can I get off this carcass for the least amount of money. They would gladly switch appraisers to save $0.50 and have no loyalty or scruples whatsoever. Anyone that works for them is just fedding the beast. One of the absolute worst AMCs in existence.
