Here, and I have seen others report the same, an AMC must be registered with the Secretary of State to operate within State borders. If you can find that information, you can serve them with a small claims complaint.

I finished and got paid recently by an AMC that is no longer CA State registered, represented by an individual whose AR cert is suspended. [Unsure if an appr is responsible to confirm legitimacy of the AMC...]

The 3000 shares of AMZN that I abandoned in an ETrade account in 2003 when the price fell to $0.60, which the service gradually sold off to pay account maintenance fees, would today be 60,000 shares at $250 each, or $15,000,000. MY entry strategy got trumped by the failure of an exit strategy.
