I have the magicolor
it is so fast its incredible.
Had the HP for a few years, good color but very very slow'
You'll never regret buying a color laser, the cost savings on ink will pay for itself
Changed toner twice in the HP after 3 years. before PDF, lots of pages printed, big cost savings
good luck

I also use the Minolta Magicolor 2200. Works great. Holds 500 pages of blank paper, so you're not filling it every time you go to print a report. The speed for a 20 page report with photos and everything from start to finish takes approximately 7 minutes, as compared to 15 minutes on my inkjet. Love not having to change the ink cartridge every month or so. Also, the Magicolor 2200 is one of the few color laser printers that come with FULL toner cartridges. Most c. laser printers just come with STARTER toner cartridges, so you have to spend the extra $400 on new full toner almost immediately. BTW - the Magicolor 2200 has been out for over a year now.

Nancy,
Perhaps I'm a dying species, but in the past year I've only had two clients ask for e-mailed reports 8O . Most of my clients are right in my area, and although it's kind of a hassle I still hand deliver them. I like looking those LO's straight in the eye....keeps 'em in line  . I'm printing about 200+ reports a year, usually three or four copies per report, so you can imagine what my ink costs can add up to....almost $3000 just last year. The color laser should just about pay for itself within the first year.

Bemis & graindart,
Thanks for the input! I suspected it might be a good printer but wanted to hear from someone who'd actually used it.

David,
You're not an idiot. You just had a brain ****. I do that sometimes too. No harm done.
