They have been doing that for years with the Traditional neighborhood districts. Granted the variance process is antiquated. But IMHO. They will probably see quite a bit of resistance from the public. The public has been more and more against some of the proposed high density developments in the urban areas.

I guess they took the Pretenders to heart.

Columbus looked pretty crowded to me last time I was there anyway.

It is definitely the trend. there was so much pushback to get the last zoning update done in Seattle. The elimination of SFR zoning would cause riots. Real ones this time. Don't mess with the NIMBYs.
