....Conor looks over toward the whining slob and notices that Rex has a six inch trailer of toilet paper hanging off the heel of his shoe.....wonders if he should tell him.....decides to keep quiet.....

And the whining slob wonders if the federal employee could cut it in the private sector, without the shelter of the nanny state, where others review and critique your work. The employee has admitted that no one questions his work or opinions...:new_smile-l:

I agree, on every, except I've never taken an ASA class so I don't have an opinion. The guy just comes in here and says he'd never take anything AI and MAIs are whatever you want to call them blah blah blah. Come on. Grow up.

Anyone who is rational knows that there is no person, or organization, or really, anything, that is all good or all bad.

So the new battle is between private and public sectors?

RE: The thread

Come on, guys. Why don't we try to keep it professional without attacking each other? Most who participate here do, and that is one of the reasons I enjoy reading/posting in this subforum.

Heck ya! You didn't know?? The feds are hiring all of these review appraisers for the IRS. They are going to try to take over the fee appraisal world. We must unite!!! lol. :rof:

I'm just waiting for the ubiquitous "upgrade your clients" suggestion from the government employee.

My brother-in-law works for the GSA and has for quite a long time. He is conscientious, hard-working and very good at what he does, as I'm sure our resident IRS expert is. He also get really bent out of shape when people take shots at government employees. On the other hand, when he has a few adult beverages, he can have us rolling on the floor with examples of ineptitude and incompetence that he can't do anything about. He also has benefits most people would kill for, primarily to make up for the sub-standard pay related to what he would be able to command in the private sector. But, as mentioned previously, he is 9-5 with lots of vacation days. It's a trade off ...

That being said, I don't think anybody who works in a salaried appraisal position, whether its with the government or with a bank, really understands the stresses involved in fee work, especially in today's market. I think both areas of the market have their own separate challenges, often requiring very different, but complementary skills. I don't know many bank/government appraisers who could make it in the fee world, but I also know very few fee appraisers who could successfully make the transition the other way.

...Conor sits back in his chair, crosses his legs and casually lights a cigarette.....watches Boonders scratch his crotch with one hand and pick his nose with the other.....

Boonders watches Conor and waits impatiently for a reply.....

Conor lets him wait...

......Moderator sits in his chair taking a break from a stupid new residential construction appraisal that will come in $150,000 low.....checks the forum for some humor or insight......puts out his ultra light cigarette, takes a sip of Budweiser and reminds everyone to be nice. :)
