Commercial Complete software?

Why did you make a purchase and not get trained? It doesn't sound like you are giving yourself or the software a fair review. I have been a user of Narrative1 for a couple of years. Previously I had tried to make RB & Datacomp work for me but they just were not flexible enough. I like my reports to be above the norm. Not too mention I rarely get normal appraisals.

I don't know much about Commercial Complete as I have always been most satisfied with Narrative1. No matter what my question is they hold my hand and get me through, even when it's not really related to Narrative1(word or excel). They could just say "It has nothing to do with us", but they don't.

I keep up with a support contract just because they are are always coming up with new and innovative ways to make my job easier, so I like being able to get upgrades & tech support when ever I want. Sometimes you just can't put a price on quality and reliablilty.

Who said I wasn't trained? They showed me a demo and how everything works but I haven't actually used it yet.

Your post sounds like you work for N1. You seem to be talking quite highly of N1. How do you know CC doesn't offer the same support, quality, and reliabilty as N1? FYI, CC gives you everything N1 offers and more for $700 less.

I see you have AMC down as your career. Interesting.

Narrative 1 vs. Commercial Complete

I bought N1 six weeks ago but have been too busy trying to meet deadlines to take the time to learn how to use it and get tech support. I am confident N1 has great tech support but fear the learning curve steeper and potential for increased productivity less than what one could achieve with Commercial Complete. I hope to hear back from one or more users of Commercial Complete and then decide if I want to buy CC. I hope someone will e-mail me at stephenx.bullock@gmail.com if anyone has experience with Commercial Complete.

Call them and ask for a demo. You get 30% off if you decide to purchase.

N1 vs. Commercial Complete

Rescom,
I got the demo on CommercialComplete.com. Have you had time to actually try it out and complete a narrative appraisal yet? If so, is it as easy to use as it appears and did you notice any limitations on what it can or cannot do? Regards, Stephen

I was not referring to you not being trained, Steve ??? starting the thread said he did not have time to get trained.

No, I do not work for N1, I talk highly because I have had great experience for a couple of years. Maybe it is not the easiest to learn, especially if you are making a complete change in your reports but nothing new ever is. and again I said I had no knowledge of CC. I was only referring to what I know to be true which is RB & DC.

My reference to support was other software companies like microsoft for that matter. Try and get tech support or someone that speaks english? You will fins long wait times and they certainly take personal interest to help you through a problem.

Narrative 1 vs. Commercial Complete

I know support for Narrative 1 is excellent and the software is widely used throughout the commercial appraisal sector. Commercial Complete is not as widely used so it's more difficult to determine if it's the best choice. One appraiser on a linkedin group told me he has all the major report writing programs including Narrative 1 and Commercial Complete. He says Commercial Complete is the best choice for him given his limited computer skills. I'm going to give N1 a try when I have the time and then decide whether or not to buy Commercial Complete or another program. There is one that runs completely from MS Word that looks easy to use.

Any of the recent buyers of commercial software had a chance to work with it and provide us with some feedback? It would be great to get an idea of how that are working out.

Commercial Complete

I have a 30 day free trial of Commercial Complete and hope to first use it on a land valuation coming up. If it works out I'll buy it. You can get a 30 day trial if you want to give it a try, nothing to lose.

I have a 30 day free trial ... You can get a 30 day trial if you want to give it a try, nothing to lose.

The only thing to lose is time. Like you, I have a vacant land project on deck, and would love to give N1 or CC a try, if only I had the time.

I learned a few things about N1 over the past week. I though I would share my observations to see how some of the regular users have addressed it.

1. N1 Storage of documents within an appraisal file is not predefined. There does not seem to be a self contained system to store and label documents and images. Unless I am missing it. I would like to download images to a file, label them and have the label and any other information become part of the report.

2. Comp Database only has the ability to have one image and no additional documents stored along with the comp. Both, Commercial Complete and DataComp have the facility to perform this task. Therefore, if I load several comps into their database, I can not include multiple views of additional structures, sections of land, plat maps, and the lick to follow that comps always.

Does any of the N1 users have a method of performing these tasks? I like the merging capabilities within N1. I believe that it has a larger user base and a good development trend into the future.
