I just bought a new Dell, decided 11 years was long enough to keep my old one running. I need a computer tech to help get me up and going. After several calls to my regular guy, I have concluded that he must have fallen off the planet.......any suggestions? Would help if the tech also has knowledge of Alamode software.

Did you get Windows 7?

Go to the local grade school and look for the pale kid with the thick glasses playing a handheld electronic game. He might show signs of being picked on by the other kids such as a visible wedgie etc.

Thank you for the very mature and insightful response. This is the reason I wondered if I should even place a post..........

Lighten up Frances.

11 years!
Were you using Win98 or Win ME??

What seem to be problems may just be protective services microsoft has installed.
Be sure the computer knows you are THE Administrator.
Suggest you buy one of the "...for Idiots" books on windows 7.
((No offense intended, I've read 4 or 5, so if they are for idiots, I'm one, or maybe three.))

I'm going to use XP for as long as humanly possible.
