How much more time do you spend on FHA Inspections versus Conventional Inspections?

The Same?

1-10% More Time?

11-30% More Time?

31-50% More Time?

Over 50% More Time?

Where is the poll? Why should it take more time? Shouldn't your level of inspection be the same on all properties?

I inspect all properties as if I was doing an FHA appraisal. It has happened once or twice that I get a conventional order and before I'm ready to turn in the appraisal the lender calls and says "We messed up, we really need an FHA appraisal on that property."

Careful there....FHA requires that the appraiser be given the FHA number prior to doing the appraisal, not after....

SO YOU DRIVE BACK THE NEXT DAY AND RESHOOT THE PHOTO, WHAT ARE YOU, ANOTHER CRUSADER?

Wrong! The lender has to log into the FHA Connection and put in the date the appraiser was engaged. The case # can be on that date. That means the inspection can be done before the case # was assigned.

I should have clarified that...certainly can do without the FHA number, but an FHA report may not be turned in to the lender without an FHA number. I would worry here that newbies think they can just add the FHA number to a report already submitted to a lender.

That's better!...............
