Cost to Connect to Sewer

We don't have any city or county governments that require connection to public sewer here in East Tennessee that I am aware of. I've never had to deal with that. My house is located in a subdivision which has public sewer available at the street. Our house is on a septic tank and the plumbing runs under the basement floor out to the septic tank in the back yard. It would not feasible to connect to the public sewer as it would require taking up part of the driveway, connecting it, and then installing a new driveway.

That's where a person has to be geo competent. I had a a bad one where city said yes they have to connect. Investor came unglued on me. I feel sorry for appraiser that did it before me. He probably went after that appraiser.

Okay, look at it this way. Feasibility has nothing to do with it if jurisdiction says you have to connect to transfer property rights. It could have, but you might not be able to transfer property rights. If jurisdiction says you can't transfer property rights without connecting, then it is "subject to connection" on appraisal for fee simple rights.

Unless public sewer is available on street in front of subject or shortly behind subject, it is highly unlikely any jurisdiction would require connection.
