Court Dismisses Discrimination Claims

I just read the complaint. Why is it that when you have 3 appraisals, all within a 10% range ,that the one that is 50% higher than the others is the correct one? $520k, $485k and $470k vs $655k.
Because victimhood mentality people are always looking to pull the race card to get money

Well, I think that ANY home owner would see that higher amount and just know that that is the correct one. Perhaps the homeowners just thought thye found a reason? This kind of stuff has been going one since at tleast the 90's when I started. Its just a new verse of the same old "Your value is too low" song.

It's long been too easy to sue in many jurisdictions. Many defendants settle despite not having done what they are accused of. It's often simply cheaper to settle than it is to defend. There should be more jurisdictions where if you bring a lawsuit and fail, you pay for everything... court costs, attorney fees for both sides, and any loss of income suffered by the accused.

I've seen multiple clients peg the quality of an appraisal by comparing to a value from an ancient report that may or may not have been accurate at that time. The mind works in strange ways, especially when money gets involved.

It seems to me that when someone is accused of being a racist, publicly sued, and they aren’t, that is a libel case waiting to happen. Especially when it will affect future work. Maybe if there was a counter-suit and the appraiser wins, people would think twice throwing around the race card.
